A LOOK INSIDE IRIS’S HOME

We take a look inside the renovated home of Iris and her boyfriend. They’ve been living in this house in Deurne for exactly one year now. In this home tour, Iris explains how she used warm tones, carefully chosen materials, and surprising elements to create an interior that perfectly suits them.

A complete makeover

Before the house really felt like home, it needed a major renovation. The old kitchen was replaced with a completely new open-concept kitchen, new window frames were installed, and the entire floor was replaced with a stylish poured concrete floor featuring underfloor heating. “We completely renovated the entryway, the bathroom, and the living room downstairs,” says Iris. The layout was also revamped. By relocating and redesigning the kitchen, an open and spacious layout was created where the spaces flow seamlessly into one another. The combination of soft tones and modern materials results in an interior that feels light, warm, and inviting.

Hotel chic with warm accents

Although others often describe her interior style as Japandi, Iris sees it slightly differently. “To me, Japandi is really just a trend,” she says with a laugh. “I actually love classic details and timeless elements.”

That blend of modern and classic is subtly reflected throughout. Iris describes her interior style as “hotel chic,” combining both trendy and classic influences. Warm shades of bronze and beige form the foundation throughout the house. From accessories to furniture and materials, everything comes together beautifully, creating a serene, luxurious atmosphere.

Long evenings dining in style

The open kitchen is undoubtedly the heart of the home. Much of daily life takes place around the round Nantes dining table from Room108. The space is perfect for long evenings of dining or enjoying drinks with family and friends. Thanks to the open layout, the kitchen flows seamlessly into the living area, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Surrounding the dining table are the Xavi dining chairs, upholstered in the Cayenne Shell 196 fabric, which beautifully complement the calm and stylish look of the interior. The chairs’ soft curves and rich upholstery give the space a luxurious feel. Their optimal seating comfort ensures you can sit at the table for hours on end without tiring. They offer excellent support and combine functionality with an elegant design. In this living space, black chair legs were chosen, giving the whole look a modern and bold twist. It is precisely this combination of warm materials, soft tones, and a few dark accents that creates an inviting, contemporary atmosphere.
