In Teeffelen, Brabant, Nienke and Rens live in a single-family home that they’ve decorated entirely to their own taste. Their interior has a calm foundation of beige tones, natural materials, and warm accents. The country-style kitchen and dining room together form the heart of the home.

A special opportunity

For Rens, this place feels extra special. “I actually just crossed the street,” he says with a laugh. “My parents live diagonally across from here.” His father had once cautiously asked the neighbors across the street if they might ever want to sell their house. And so it happened.

For Nienke, the move meant saying goodbye to Oirschot, but she, too, now feels completely at home. “It’s cozy here, and everyone knows each other. Plus, I now work at Rens’s company, so everything is nice and close by.”

Although the house was move-in ready, they made the interior completely their own. Nienke describes their style as calm, warm, and neutral. “I love shades of beige and soft colors.” The country-style kitchen provides a charming contrast and has become one of their favorite spots in the house.

An interior that felt like home from day one

When they bought the house, Nienke and Rens decided right away to invest wisely in their interior. “We deliberately saved up and bought almost everything at once,” says Rens. This quickly resulted in an interior where all the furniture complements each other beautifully.

Nienke loves to draw inspiration from home decor stores and styling trends. “I enjoy visiting home decor stores with my friends and getting new ideas. That’s how I get a lot of inspiration for our own home.”

A warm dining room with character

The open-concept kitchen serves as the cozy centerpiece of the home. Here, the warm, neutral colors from the rest of the interior come together beautifully. Surrounding the rustic dining table are the Xavi dining chairs by Gusj, upholstered in the Cayenne Cognac fabric. The warm cognac color adds depth and character to the bright space and creates a lovely contrast with the soft beige tones.
